Plot Summary: This inspiring documentary film provides a historical perspective of an educational breakthrough initiative at Dandenong North Primary School that challenged conventional wisdom and practice. Rather than relying on motivation to learn to read as a precursor to literacy success, The Reading Factory, comprised of a dedicated team of educators, subscribed to an alternate psycho-educational theory - that learning to read can transcend the motivation often lacking in reluctant readers or students from disadvantaged backgrounds. The Reading Factory has provided long-term evidence that students who achieve success in learning to read go on to experience success in the higher-level skill of reading to learn.  The life changing impact this unique literacy support program has on disadvantaged students, is the heart of this uplifting educational film, made by multi-award-winning documentary filmmaker, Amel Tresnjic.

Film:SingFest, The Literacy of Music (2017, 49min feature documentary)
Status: Completed Full Credits: IMDB Title Page
Facebook Page: facebook.com/SingfestMusicFilm

Emerson School and Brave Archer Films® present 'Singfest: The Literacy of Music.' This uplifting multi-award winning documentary film takes us on a journey into the world of music and how music, as a literacy in schools, unlocks student's full potential and transforms their learning. Emerson School and Brave Archer Films® present 'Singfest: The Literacy of Music.' A film made in its entirety by one filmmaker, Amel Tresnjic.

Plot Summary: This inspirational multi-award winning documentary film takes us on a journey into the world of music and how music, as a literacy in schools, unlocks student's full potential and transforms their learning. Emerson School, a special needs school situated in Dandenong, Victoria, Australia, invites nine local schools to its grounds for the purpose of sharing its’ love of singing and music making. Whilst each school brings its own unique strengths and talents to the day, Emerson School shares insights on the vital role of Music and Music Education in the special needs educational setting. The students from the invited schools come together as strangers but when united through their voices and choral singing for the day, that strangeness and unfamiliarity is taken away. Thus the literacy embedded within Music as an art form has the power to bond people of all different cultures and engender learning that is multimodal and transformational. The embodied cognition in Music Education is a potent tool that humans use to give meaning in both linguistic and non-linguistic ways. Most importantly, music draws people together and helps make their learning journey socially-directed and purposeful. The power that music has to transcend a wide range of learning, cultural and social barriers is demonstrated in this unique and uplifting educational film.

FILM: Marathon Day: Boston 15-4-13 (2013, 72min feature documentary)
Status: Completed Full Credits: IMDB Title Page
''There are two sides to every story'. Marathon Day: Boston 15.4.13. This film was researched, edited and documented as the events were unfolding in real time. A film by Amel Tresnjic.

"It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." — Aristotle

Plot: What really happened in Boston on April 15, 2013? If you have missed it, here is a film that will bring you up to speed. Marathon Day: Boston 15.4.13. A 72min documentary film that summarises/compares the Boston bombings from the perspective of the official story through the eyes of the mainstream media and the questions asked by millions about its credibility, both by alternative media sources and the public! The film is presented in the form of direct evidence/comparison, all news media reports are verifiable and available publicly on the Internet. Mainstream vs alternative Internet media is the theme! What is the truth? Why didn't the mainstream media report on the 'Bomb Drill' that was taking place on the day? Why do the witnesses on alternative media contradict the witness reports presented by mainstream? Why did the mainstream fail to report on the military undercover operatives at the scene of the first explosion? Why was the FBI mentoring the Tsarnaev brothers? Who is really behind this? Who gains from these 'terror attacks' and how have previous attacks reshaped our lives? Is there a real conspiracy here? See the two perspectives and be the judge!

FILM: March Against Monsanto (2013, 9min short documentary) Status: Completed

"The revolution will not be televised" - Gil Scott-Heron 'March Against Monsanto: Melbourne, Australia' A short film that captured the spirit of thousands who gathered in the streets of Melbourne, Australia opposing GMO foods and Monsanto. Filmed, edited and produced by Amel Tresnjic.

Approximately five thousand people across all age groups and cultures marched Melbourne to protest 'Monsanto', and no mainstream media coverage at all. Australia was not the only country that didn't get coverage for one of the most historic marches held in over 50+ countries and in about 436 cities worldwide! It was one of the most historic and record breaking protests, where millions of people gathered in the streets to protest one of the most EVIL corporations on the planet 'Monsanto'. "Google the words 'Monsanto' + 'Evil' and see what you get" read one of the signs, targeting the people who are completely unaware of what's going on with the food we eat! Another sign read "Monsanto's worst enemy is an informed public."

"Whoever controls the media, controls the mind" - Jim Morrison.

Even though mainstream media created one of the greatest media suppression's in journalism history, activists, independent media groups and members of the public worldwide were there to capture history in the making! Filmmaker and activist, Amel Tresnjic, took time off from his busy schedule to produce this independent short film in order to provide some perspective on the potential dangers of GMO foods as well as the suppression of journalism. This 9min short-film captured the spirit of the thousands that gathered in the streets of Melbourne opposing GMO foods and Monsanto.

"In the age of information, ignorance is a choice." Donny Miller

"You have to start with the truth. The truth is the only way that we can get anywhere. Because any decision-making that is based upon lies or ignorance can't lead to a good conclusion." - Julian Assange
